For those who live to fish.
An outfitter for those passionate about fly fishing, Trout Trickers is about putting you where the fish are. Our seasoned veteran guides have a combined 187 years of river experience, together rowing over 105,000 river float miles. It’s this intimate knowledge that fuels our passion for client success, exceeding expectations on and off the river. We specialize in quality, not quantity, we will show up early extra prepared and also enthusiastically stay late to ensure your trip is the ultimate angling experience. Serving Vail, Colorado including Gore Creek, the Eagle, Roaring Fork and Colorado rivers and also Wyoming’s renown North Platte and Bighorn tail waters.
Introducing the Trout Trickers Moses Hat
If you have had a chance to fish with our Founder Pete Mott, you likely had his german short hair pointer Moses laying on the Yeti Cooler all day. He has been a significant part of our clients enjoyment while floating with Trout Trickers and now you can share his legacy of the Best Boat Dog in the West with your own hat or beanie. Quantities are limited, don’t wait to show off his artwork holding a fly rod and start a conversation of how amazing your day was fishing with Trout Trickers.

Float Trips
Float trips are our most popular trip and for good reasons. Beginner anglers can easily learn the basics of fly fishing from the comfort of a drift boat. Advanced anglers appreciate the ability to cover many more “miles of mouths” than would typically be accessible to a wade fisherman in a day. Our guided float trips also allows access to fish through private properties that are unaccessible on foot. Generally our floats are on the colorful Colorado River or the mighty Roaring Fork River. The Eagle River in the Vail Valley and the North Platte River in Wyoming are also available seasonally. All floats are conducted in comfortable hard-bottom drift boats or when appropriate, inflatable fishing rafts.
Wade Trips
Wade fishing is a great way to experience our local rivers, especially some of the smaller drainages and to access areas the boats cannot. Wade fishing offers anglers a great interaction with the guide and an ability to learn and concentrate on fly fishing techniques or a particular stretch of river. Wading is a great option for anglers looking to hone their skills with a professional guide while stalking wild trout. The primary rivers we wade are Gore Creek and the Eagle River in the Vail Valley, but we also have access to the Roaring Fork and Colorado Rivers, and Freemont Canyon on the North Platte River in Wyoming.
